Jacky Tang
Co-Founder
Jacky is an international award-winning architectural designer with focus on museum, cultural and mixed-used projects. He is originally from Hong Kong and holds a master degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. His master thesis, Mass Tower - Proposition of New Typology of Skyscraper in Shibuya received O-okayama Master Thesis Silver Prize in 2016. He has worked for international offices including Sou Fujimoto Architects, Kengo Kuma and Associates in Tokyo, Japan and X-Architects in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
From 2017 to 2020 with X Architects, Jacky was the lead design architect for architecture competitions. He completed Jumeriah Housing Competition - Dubai, Jabal An Noor - Revelation Museum - Riyadh, MEWA Sustainable Office Building - Riyadh and He won The Creation Story Museum - Al Madinah in 2018 which is now under construction.
In 2018, his submission for Hong Kong, Wan Chai Community Green station design competition was selected as one of top 6 entries. His team also won the exhibition venue design for <More than High-rise - Exploring Hong Kong through Architecture>. The exhibition has been held in GINZA SIX, Tokyo in November at the same year.
From 2015 to 2017, he was the design architect at Sou Fujimoto Architects in Tokyo for awarded competition project, House of Hungarian Music in Budapest, Hungary. He is the key design member to handle complex geometry from schematic stage to detail design until construction design stage. Jacky has rich experience on high-end luxury retail with experience as a store designer in Gucci Group (Hong Kong) from 2008 to 2010 and completed flagship stores including façade design in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Yazeed Obeid
Co-Founder
Yazeed is an international award-winning architect whose work covers a wide spectrum of design related disciplines ranging from architecture, interior and furniture design, to architectural installations and exhibition design. After graduating with a bachelors of science in architectural engineering (Hons.) in 2010, Yazeed worked with Sahel Al Hiyari Architects for 6 years during which he led the design of different cultural, hospitality, and residential projects in the Middle East and Europe including the Noble Quran Oasis in Al Madinah, Saudi.
In 2016 he relocated to Dubai and joined X-Architects where he co-designed and led multiple international and regional projects and invited competitions. His experience covers a diverse range of projects for market-leading clients including Aldar Properties, Al Futtaim Properties, Msheireb Properties, IKEA, Samaya Investments, Qiddiya, Amaala and The Red Sea Development Company.
In 2017, Yazeed led the design of winning proposal for invited competition of Rawdhat Al Doha hotel, Qatar. In 2018 he won the The Creation Story Museum invited competition in Al Madinah which is now under construction. Since then, he developed various visions and led multiple competitions in UAE and Saudi including 7-star hospitality projects and cultural venues.
Yazeed’s works has been featured in international design journals and websites. In 2016, he was invited to showcase his work in the first version of Amman Design Week where he exhibited an architectural installation; ‘The Minaret’. Yazeed’s designs are place-related and context-responsive, they aim to analyze and redefine the conventions and traditions through continuous experimentation and research, backed by a thorough understanding of the culture and heritage of the Middle East.
